The Village is a full service marketing and communications agency. We collaborate to create branded communication experiences that foster relationships between brands and their audiences.
Via our website and our social media channels, we break through the noise and curate the best resources. This page is our Pinterest Landing Page. It’s designed to give you an easy to navigate outline of what we’ve been up to on Pinterest lately and provides suggestions about how you can get the most out of our boards. If you have any suggestions for content or boards, please contact us.
Our goal on Pinterest is to highlight the trends and best practices in branding, communications and design. We have a specific emphasis on technology and digital, but we do this to show how these innovations are driving traditional communications.
Pinterest has presented itself as a rapidly emerging trend in social as it taps into the interest graph. We did an experimental board detailing how this affects brands at The ´Pinterest´ Graph.
Brands are now going beyond just pinning products and are now creating brand stories and beginning to experiment. Follow Pinterest Competition Examples and Innovation on Pinterest to stay up to date on these trends.
We also have developed a number of resources for our community:
Social Commerce is beginning to be one of the highest drivers for online purchases. It is and will continue to play a major role in the digital and social landscape. Developments in the social commerce arena move so fast, it can be hard to monitor new tools and strategies. We have two boards dedicated to this: Social Commerce and Facebook Commerce. Feel free to ask us questions in the comments of those boards as we are always discovering new resources.
New Technology for branded communication
The pace of technological innovations won’t slow down any time soon and will continue to change the way we shop and advertise. However, it will be a number of years before a lot of these ideas become mainstream in retail stores or print advertising. It is worth watching how brands are currently using these technologies so you can figure out what direction to go in for your brand.
The major board we have is Innovative Retail Technolology. This covers general trends and case studies. We have two boards dedicated to two major players in this industry: Kinect and Facial Recognition in Marketing.
The second (and third) screen is changing the TV experience. We are no longer just watching a show on TV. We are talking about it with friends via social networks and watching it on other devices. This is a major focus of ours with clients like Ignite Media Brands, we stay close to the trends as they are evolving.
We have five boards, each dedicated to a different aspect of Social TV.
- Social TV Examples
- Social TV Technology
- Social TV and Gamification
- SocialTV Infographics
- Advertising + Social TV
There is a lot written about mobile. Mobile devices (including tablets) are changing how we communicate and transact. There are three technologies that we have been watching: Blippar, Near Field Communications (NFC) and Mobile Payments.
The Blippar board is a must follow for advertisers. The board highlights all of the ways brands have used the service for their advertising campaigns. We also believe that Mobile Payments is something you should be paying attention to as it develops and matures. Several large brands are embracing the technology, especially in the food industry.
Everybody loves a good advertising campaign! It takes a special skill to cut through the many marketing messages we are exposed to each day.
We have three boards dedicated to some of our favourite campaigns: Guerilla Advertising, Ambient Advertising and Interactive + Experiential Advertising.
